Places & Forests is a cross between artificiality and natural environments. The documented footage is manipulated to make one constantly aware that they are watching a simulated environment. In order to demonstrate our surveillance of nature as we see it through a lens of commodification. An exploration on how technology manipulates nature, how we aestheticize nature through technology, and how this affects our real life experiences in natural environments. It is my hope that this project encourages you to explore natural environments around you, and document their changing landscapes through your perspectives and interpretations. Each natural landscape is embedded with us—our memories, our experiences, which ones form yours? What stories of yours does nature hold?
